Technology and patented tools

At Carglass® we use exclusive patented tools in every vehicle glass repair & replacement job, developed by the group's Research and Development department, Belron® Technical. Belron® Technical was founded in 1983 and consists of a team of professionals who support all the countries of the group, with their global know-how and pioneering action.

Belron® Technical is responsible for:

1. Identifying and implementing best practices on the repair
2. Replace and recalibration industry by developing innovative tools to ensure quality and safety as well as
3. conducting research in the field of glass breakage

The Ezi-Wire® is an ergonomic exclusive Belron® tool. It was developed as the safest and most effective method, which helps to remove the windshield without causing injuries to the car body.

1-Tek® allows the technician to precisely install the windshield, eliminating the need for an additional person for installation and preventing injury and strain. This tool was invented, developed, manufactured, and marketed exclusively for Belron® and tested by the UK Health and Safety Executive.

The Glass Table System® has been tested by the UK Health & Safety Executive and is proven to reduce strain, helping the Technician to safely handle the glass to prepare it before installation. The highly ergonomic design of the GTS® allows a windshield to be raised in conjunction with the 1-Tek.

Glass Medic® is an exclusive windshield repair method also developed by Belron® Technical. It is a glass repair kit that fully restores the glass durability to its original properties by injecting resin into the fragment.

The OPL is a lifting and folding machine designed for fitting windshields of large vehicles such as buses, trucks, etc. This machine is capable of fitting windshields up to 100Kg for buses and HGV models.

With AsTech®, the technician can connect the vehicle's ECU to the same company's calibration system, which, thanks to agreements with major car manufacturers, is able to communicate directly with the car, unlocking it if necessary, and transmit the calibration instructions to the technician.

At Carglass® we use special calibration tables to restore the camera operation to its original properties, after the windshield replacement, for the static recalibration. Dynamic ADAS camera recalibration requires the vehicle to be driven at a specified speed on well-signposted roads using a special hand tool.
